- Up at 6am for my part-time job. What an ungodly hour. Last time I was up this early was because I hadn’t been to sleep yet. #

Personal stuff, Work-y stuff
OMG! This is the third version of this freaking entry I’ve written in the last two weeks. It’s ridiculous. The first was too whiny. The second wasn’t whiny enough. Will this one be just right? Who knows, but I’m tired of rewriting this stupid thing.
So the new job. What to say? Well, I’ve already reduced my hours if that tells you anything. I was expecting a boring job. A boring job would have been fine, but this job is just turning out to be tedious. It’s not a horrible job. I know there are MUCH worse jobs out there that involve physical labor and long hours and other horrible things, so I don’t feel like I have the right to complain too much. But I’m just realizing that the guy that runs this company is: (1) unreasonable. (2) paranoid. And: (3) doesn’t live in the real world. He just expects things that aren’t possible (not just for me, but for everyone that works for him). It’s just not a terribly fun place to work.

Personal stuff, Work-y stuff
Well, that was easy. I submitted my resume at Brandon’s company and they hired me pretty much immediately. I’ll be working Monday/Wednesday/Friday starting next week. This works out really well as there will be no “who gets the car” issues, I’ll just be working the same hours as him on those days.
I’ll be on the internet all day, so I’ll still be able to answer my email and help clients, but I’ll probably stick to doing actual design work at home on Tuesday, Thursday and the weekend. Since I’m taking a break from new projects this summer, this won’t be an issue, but I’ll have to see how things go in the fall. I may need to cut down to two days a week if I start getting busy with projects again. Or I may just limit how many projects I do a month, so that I can do both without getting overwhelmed.
But basically my “job” will be to play a game all day. !!! Can’t beat that with a stick. It’s one of those new social network-y sites, but it’s aimed for kids and there are tons of games and a whole universe to play around in. They have their own avatars and houses and they get money from the games to buy furniture and stuff like that. But they can also chat with friends and live in the same “neighborhood” and play games together. My job is “lifeguard”. I think I just monitor all the chats and games and make sure there aren’t kids who are doing/saying inappropriate things and I get to kick them out if they are. Fear me, kids. I have all the power!
