(Because I’m seriously lacking on my holidailies goal)

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
It depends on the gift, but usually wrapping paper.

2. Real tree or artificial?
I begrudgingly bought a artificial tree last year, but I like it now. It’s so much easier to deal with. I miss the smell of a real one, though.

3. When do you put up the tree?

4. When do you take the tree down?
Usually pretty late. Mostly because I’m lazy, but also because I love Christmas and I never want it to end. Technically it’s still “Christmas” until Jan. 6, so usually some time after that. I remember leaving my tree up until almost March one year out of sheer laziness.

5. Do you like eggnog?
It’s okay. I’ve never had the alcoholic kind, though.

6. Favorite gift received as a child?
Every gift is my favorite! I remember once that I got a new desk and “Santa” delivered it early and left me a note (and he had the same handwriting as my dad, hmmmmm). I also sort of remember getting my first bike. That was awesome.

7. Do you have a nativity scene?
Yes we have 2. And for a household that contains an atheist (my bf) and an agnostic (me), that probably seems weird. Both of our nativity scenes are from our childhood’s though, so they are about memories and tradition rather than actually believing in Jesus. Plus, just because I don’t believe Jesus is the son of God (or that there is a god), doesn’t mean I can’t like and appreciate his story.

8. Hardest person to buy for?
Everyone. I hate shopping! I give people gift certificates. It’s simple and the person gets to pick what they want. I think that’s much better than me trying to pick something, getting it wrong and them winding up with some gift they’ll never use.

9. Easiest person to buy for?
Me! Because I know what the heck I want. Also my boyfriend because I make him give me a list.

10. Most unusual gift ever received during the holidays?
Ugh. A garlic press. Worst gift ever. I recently threw it away in my fall cleaning extravaganza. Tried to use it once, it’s the most useless tool ever.

11. Mail or email Christmas card?
Mail.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
A Christmas Story (”You’ll shoot your eye out!”)

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
Beginning of December (-ish)

14. White Christmas or Warm Christmas?
For the love of god, WHITE. Have I mentioned today how much I despise Florida?

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
Umm, cookies, candy, cake, etc. Everything! I let myself pig out at Christmas and then try not to eat much of that stuff the rest of the year.

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree?
Clear or a solid color. I hate multi-colored lights, but my current tree has blue lights which I LOVE.

17. Favorite Christmas song?
Anything sung by Bing Crosby.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?
Like to stay home, but unfortunately, that doesn’t always happen.

19. Can you name Santa’s reindeer?
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph

20. Do you have an Angel on top or a star?
Star. Our first Christmas we didn’t have a lot of money so I made all of our ornaments and we didn’t have a topper, so my boyfriend made paper angel wings and put them on this chicken doll we had (from the movie Chicken Run) and we put that on top of the tree. We actually did that for a few years (mostly because it was funny), but then I got a star and we retired the chicken.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
Usually Christmas morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year?
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, don’t you know? But I guess the fact that Target is always busy is really annoying.
