The Days of my Life
2 slices of cheesecake (1 for breakfast, 1 for desert)
m&m’s
reese’s peanut butter cups (5+)
bowl of popcorn (made in my new popcorn popper)
eggs
bacon
pancakes
grits
orange juice
coffee
2 glasses of wine
Well, that was possibly the piggiest day EVER. But you should get to eat whatever you want on Christmas, it’s a rule (well, it’s my rule).
Instead of having a big dinner (since we already did that for Thanksgiving and up in Tennessee this past weekend) we had breakfast for dinner and used our new griddle that my boyfriend’s parents gave to us. It’s very handy, I think we’ll be using it a lot.
My cheesecake turned out well (obviously) and the pecan pie I made for my boyfriend was good, also. I’ll have to take his word for it since I don’t eat pecans. I was just glad the thing set this time and wasn’t a soupy mess.
We got some wine glasses for Christmas, so I thought I’d buy some wine so we could actually use them. I bought some red that I think I’ve had once before at a wedding or something. I remember liking it, but either it’s not the same or I just don’t like it very much anymore. I’m making myself finish most of the bottle (over the next few days of course, not all at once) because I don’t want to waste it. My boyfriend’s not much for wine and hates this kind, so he’s not much help. I think I’m going to try some white next time and see if I like that better.
Yesterday was mostly spent watching Christmas DVDs (Elf, Love Actually), playing Guitar Hero and the aforementioned eating and drinking. I think we are going to head over to the theater today because there are a ton of movies I want to see. My boyfriend will, under no circumstance, go to a movie or restaurant on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day because “people shouldn’t be working at Christmas”. Which is a nice sentiment and all and I agree with it, but just because we don’t go see Sweeney Todd, doesn’t mean that other people are going to follow our example. But whatever, I guess it makes him feel better. We took a stand, dammit. Or whatever. Anyway, stand over. I can go see Juno now!
