Personal stuff
I got tickets to see Ben Folds! I’m soooo excited. Yes, I technically saw him last August, but that really wasn’t the best concert. Mainly because it was John Mayer concert featuring Ben Folds, which is totally different from a Ben Folds concert. Also, that was in a giant venue and we had fairly bad seats, while this concert will be in a VERY small venue with awesome seats (I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure we’re in the third row or better). The really awesome thing is that it’s at my college so we get to go back to Savannah, where we lived for 4 years. I LOVED it there and we’re actually only about 2 hours away from it now, so it won’t be a long trip at all. The concert is on a Friday in March, so we’re going to make a weekend of it. There’s a ton of places I want to visit again. Most especially, because Savannah is an AMAZING town for a photographer and it really annoys me that I didn’t get into photography sooner and I missed out on all the amazing shots and experiences I could have had.
February’s going to be a hard month because of all the work I have to do. It’s also my birthday month, which I’m pretty much not going to get to celebrate, so that trip is going be for my birthday and rewarding myself for getting all my shit done and also hopefully rewarding myself for a full month on my new diet and exercise routine.
Speaking of, that’s going well so far. We worked out on Monday, but because Brandon had to work late on Tuesday we didn’t get down there (I could have gone by myself and didn’t, so I kinda suck in that regard), but we made up for it today by staying longer. I lost half a pound so far, but I’m pretty sure I’ll have gained it back by tomorrow because we ate out today (at a buffet place, no less). But I did finally go to the grocery store and stock up, so I’m going to try my hardest to make dinner regularly. (Some nights will just be ‘cereal night’ and Brandon will just have to get over it, though.) We’re not giving up on restaurants entirely, but I’m hoping to we can limit it to once a week or once every other week (that may be too much of a stretch). Since we’re doing this hardcore exercise routine, I’m really not going to try to kill myself as far as dieting goes, but I am trying to eat better. Less fat, more fruits and vegetables, smaller portions, stuff like that. If I want to cookie, though, I’m going to eat a damn cookie. Really, that will just motivate me to go workout and burn off the calories.

AWESOME about Ben Folds!
I hear ya on the dinner thing - I’ve gotten into a meal planning routine on the weekends but when we are stuck for a healthy dinner, we will often make tortillas and stuff them with whatever is in the house. Instead of sour cream, we squeeze lime over a veggie and chicken stuffed tortilla. For a treat, I’ll make shrimp and avocado ones.
Keep trying on the exercise - it’s not easy but it’s time for YOU and your body. You work so hard Emily, and you most definitely deserve to be healthy!
